1. Who you are contracting with

RentalTax Hub is owned and operated by 13TH SQUARED ENTERPRISES ("we", "us", "our"), a business registered in South Africa. By using RentalTax Hub you are entering into an agreement with 13TH SQUARED ENTERPRISES. You can reach us at support@rental-tax-hub.lovable.app.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, purchasing a Rental Tax-Year Pass, or otherwise continuing to use the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service. If you use RentalTax Hub on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business. If you use it as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age to contract.

3. What the service does

RentalTax Hub helps South African taxpayers organise rental income and expense documentation, extract figures from uploaded documents using automated and AI-assisted processing, apportion those figures, and produce a rental profit or loss pack for their own records or for review by a registered tax practitioner.

4. Not tax advice

RentalTax Hub is a calculation and record-keeping tool. It does not provide tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, does not submit returns to SARS on your behalf, and does not constitute practitioner review or sign-off. Automated and AI-assisted extraction and categorisation may be inaccurate or incomplete. You remain responsible for reviewing every figure, for verifying the treatment of each item, and for the accuracy of anything you submit to SARS. Outputs should be checked by a registered tax practitioner before they are relied on.

5. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to commit fraud, evade tax, or send spam;
• upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property;
• upload malware, probe, scan or interfere with the security or integrity of the service;
• scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the service;
• reverse engineer the service, resell or redistribute it, or circumvent technical or plan limits;
• attempt to access another user's data.

7. Your content and our licence to process it

You keep ownership of the documents and data you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and analyse that content solely to provide the service to you, including sending document content to our AI processing providers for extraction where you have enabled that feature.

8. Our intellectual property

We retain all rights in the RentalTax Hub software, calculation logic, documentation, design and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with the plan you have purchased.

9. Payments, billing and our reseller

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, applicable taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. The Rental Tax-Year Pass is a once-off purchase priced in South African Rand. It does not renew automatically and is not a subscription. Access granted by a purchase lasts for the period stated at the time of purchase.

10. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. Where a refund or chargeback is processed, the access that the payment unlocked is revoked.

11. Service availability

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change, and maintenance or third-party outages may cause downtime.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account and data from your settings page. On termination, your data is deleted in line with our Privacy Notice; export your tax pack before you delete your account.

13. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, or for any tax, penalty or interest assessed against you. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be excluded under South African law.

14. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

15. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the "last updated" date above will change.
